Official Statement by Fenerbahçe Sports Club

10 January 2025 Friday 21:37

As Fenerbahçe Sports Club, we had previously informed all relevant authorities of our state in detail regarding allegations of ticket scalping made by the members of a rival club against their own organization. We also requested that the necessary investigations and inquiries be conducted.

This issue has resurfaced in certain media outlets and on social media today following the statements made by our President, Mr. Ali Y. Koç, during his latest press conference.

We regret to inform you that the shortcomings in the prosecutor’s file are not limited to the witness testimony that has become a topic of discussion today.

It is our belief that, within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, a decision of non-prosecution was reached regarding the allegations without conducting a sufficient and detailed inquiry or an effective investigation.

For this reason:

On December 31, 2024, our club submitted an appeal to a higher authority, requesting the annulment of the decision made by the prosecutor’s office concerning this matter, which directly pertains to us and carries significant societal responsibility.

For the sake of public conscience, this investigation must be concluded through a thorough examination of every detail, as required by the principles of law.

Furthermore, if the aforementioned club is confident in its innocence and believes there has been no misconduct regarding the allegations, it should support the deepening of the investigation to ensure justice is served.

We trust that judicial authorities will approach this matter with the necessary sensitivity. Let it be known that we will exercise all our rights in such matters and will closely follow this process until its conclusion.
