"The Girl children are changing the World" themed conference, intensely participated, was held on the International Day of the Girl Child

The 8th edition of the International Day of the Girl Child Conference was held with the cooperation of UN Women, UNICEF, UNFPA, and the Aydın Doğan Foundation.
 
Yekta Kopan moderated "The Girl children are changing the World" themed conference, held at Hilton Bosphorus Hotel with the agenda to raise awareness regarding the empowerment of girl child right.
 
Alongside our board member, Simla Türker Bayazıt as an invitee, the team manager of Fenarbahçe Petrol Ofisi Women’s Football Team Jessica Çarmıklı participated as a keynote speaker in the conference where influential people in the society and decision-makers interact. Fenarbahçe Petrol Ofisi Women’s Football Team captain Fatma Kara Şahinbaş and the players Ecem Cumert and Patricia del Carmen George, attended as invitees as well.
 
Our Team Manager Jessica Çarmıklı, Aysu Türkoğlu, the Turkish swimmer who crossed the English Channel (Manche) by swimming in 16 hours and 28 minutes; and the Turkish wrestler Yasemin Adar, the first European, the World, and the Olympics medals holder in Turkiye’s history expressed their stories in ‘Inspiring speeches of women from the sports world’ section. Çarmıklı told about his career and how she crossed the hurdles on the way.

Our board member Simla Türker Bayazıt expressed, “Today, we are here with institutions that have made it their mission to empower women and girls fighting for equality in all areas of society. It is very precious for us to participate in this special day. Exactly three years ago, on the International Day of the Girl Child, we declaimed that girls can also play football, and at the same time, we provided football training for girls in our Sports Schools. In those days, we opened our Sports Schools for our girls. The Team Manager of the Fenerbahçe Women's Football, which we laid the base for, on October 11, 2019, 3 years ago, on the International Day of the Girl Child, and was established last year, is a keynote speaker at this special event. We are very proud of it.”

Everything requires bravery. As long as we are brave, there is nothing women cannot achieve. Our girls should not be afraid of anything, we are always with them. I hope our girls will be more prominent in the future.” said captain Fatma Kara Şahinbaş.
